Fat Tuesday

Today is Fat Tuesday. Officially, it's the day before Lent begins. Worldwide, it is the day of the biggest indulgence of the year, complete with wild parties, parades, crazy revelers, beads and too much of everything. At my house, Lent has not been part of our tradition, and pretty much goes by unnoticed. But this year, I've been more aware and tried to be more educated, beyond reading about the crazy things happening in Brazil and New Orleans. So in the spirit of the season, we celebrated Fat Tuesday, in true foodie fashion.
