It snows and snows!

We have a couple of feet of snow in our yard and our street is a 4-wheeling road, at this point. This is not normal. Denver is famous for it's sunshine, NOT for snow. All that sunshine has mostly meant golfing year round, walking on the trail year round, mostly being outside A LOT. But this year, we are experiencing an odd phenomenon: back-to-back-to-back snow storms. The first storm dumped 30 inches on us. No sooner had we dug out from that than a second storm hit. The only time I was getting out doors was to shovel snow. But a cook has another response in these conditions: get in the kitchen! A fire blazing in the fireplace; a movie in the dvd player; and dinner appropriate for a snowy day:

Ham and Navy Bean Soup
Stone-Ground Cornbread
