Thanks Giving
I love this holiday. It may be the only major holiday that hasn't been deformed by retailers. As it was at it's inception, it is still a time of celebrating God's provision and bounty, of enjoying family and friends, and certainly of eating well. As many others do, I spend hours pouring over cooking magazines and websites, looking to create the perfect Thanksgiving menu, which for me means finding new twists on tradition. This year, I wanted to brine and grill my turkey, a choice I don't have when I want to make gravy and stuffing. But this year, we're eating elsewhere, and our hostess is cooking turkey, gravy & stuffing for today's meal. My turkey is for sandwiches and other leftovers. I'm just providing side dishes and dessert.
